Meeting Mia and Bondi/Coggee Walk

Friday was one of the best days I think I've had in Sydney. Clare and I got up really early and left by 6:30. We went to this little cafe/bookstore for an authors reading and breakfast. When I first arrived in Sydney, I heard about Mia Freedman. She has just put out a new book called MamaMia and in the book describes her life as a fast paced mother, woman, and editor for Cosmo. She is all about promoting healthy living and body image. When I heard that she was going to be speaking, I thought it would be a great way to meet a local celebrity who is making a difference in the community. I was imagining lots of people being at this event, but Clare and I were with just about 20 other people. It was such a lovely, traditional Aussie breakfast that we had and then were able to listen to Mia.

Me and Mia:)

Since we were in Bondi, I decided to hang around after Clare left. There is a really great walk called Bondi to Coogee or you can walk the other way switch the names. Its really well known and popular to do if you have a few hours to kill and want to walk along the coast. The walk takes you past 5 beaches, a cemetery, aboriginal art work, ect. Its just great! On this day, it was also Sculptures by the Sea. 500 various artists fight to have there work shown on the walk as well but only 100 actually get chosen. It was really cool to see the artwork displayed as I walked along.

This is the Bondi Iceberg Pools that are located at the beginning of the walk. Not a bad place to do a few laps huh!

This is some of the creative artwork that I found on my walk. Its kind of like where's waldo. Can you find him?

Tamarama Beach is really just a beach for the locals. However, I have also heard that it's called Glamarama because of the celebrities that like to visit. On this day it also had a lot of artwork showcased on the beach. Loved it!

Waverly Cemetery is sitting on some of the most expensive land there is. Alongside the cliffs and sitting between amazing beaches this cemetery is home to many famous Aussies.
Speaking of expensive real estate..... if anyone wants to make a small or large donation to me, I will make sure I buy something really special. I would also let that person come and visit when ever they wanted!
I finally ended at Coogee and spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach. On Friday it was close to 27 which is like 80. The water is still a bit cold at only 20 but everything is getting warmer!
Denise came over that night and we watched a movie. It was a great way to end the day because I was exhausted! The walk ended up taking almost 2.5 hours and then I was in the sun laying out for about 3. A lovely way to spend a Friday! The weekend was crazy busy and will updated asap with pics and stories.
